Terms and Conditions

Those who attend lessons are understood to have accepted the following terms and conditions.

 

  • Lessons are normally £14.50 per half hour. 10% (siblings) and 33% (unwaged) discounts available; please enquire.
  • Teaching takes place for 39 weeks of the year (roughly matching Coventry schools term time, although the summer break varies from year to year).
  • We take a break at Christmas, and at Easter. Lessons don't usually happen during half-term either, other than to catch up on cancelled lessons.
  • Fees are due on the first Sunday of every half term, and should be paid in six equal instalments.
  • Direct transfer to my bank account is the preferred method of payment. I will share my bank details with pupils and/or their parents/guardians on request as necessary.
  • If a pupil wishes to stop having lessons, half a term's notice, or payment in lieu of notice, must be given.
  • Entrance fees for ABRSM examinations, and the cost of teaching materials are extra.
  • Deadlines for entries for ABRSM exams are seven days before the deadline published on the ABRSM website.
  • Lessons cancelled with over 24 hours' notice given by either phone call, text message or WhatsApp will not be charged.
  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, will be charged as usual.
  • If I cancel a lesson for any reason, I will offer you an alternative time or deduct the fee from the following half-term's bill. 
  • Tuition and entrance for ABRSM examinations is at my absolute discretion.
  • If a pupil makes no discernible progress in a term, habitually fails to attend lessons, does little or no practice, or their attitude or behaviour gives me concern, I will advise them and/or their parents/guardians of this. If there is no improvement within half a term, lessons will be discontinued and any credit reimbursed.
